Getting ready for Halloween

A few weeks back I took Little Noodle to the stores and as fate would have it we ended up in the Halloween departments.

We were browsing, but not looking for a costume, after all we had already decided she would be a pirate.
But then she saw a flying horse and there was no way she was not getting it.

She absolutely loves her horse. She wears it all the time. If I have to change her diaper I must promise I will put it back on before she allows me to change her. It is uncomfortable to sleep with it on, but she does sleep hugging it. I have even figured out how to safely buckle her into her car seat with the horse still on.
Last night as she was being put to bed we were reading our treat or trick book, which reminded her about Halloween and that the horse was not in bed with her. Soon after tears followed, the horse was nowhere to be found. Eventually I remembered it was in the car and only after she had it in her hand did she go to sleep.

Horse Encounter

Little Noodle loves the drive to the lake, her favorite part is when we drive by the farms because she knows she will see horses. As soon as I mention "Lago", she comes back with "Horsies."
Right before we arrive, we pass a few farms and most times the horses are visible from the road.
Saturday morning Daddy parked the car next the fence and the horses came to great us.

Petting the horse
Horsie liked Goldfish
Horsie wanted more Goldfish
And to complement what already was a thrilling experience for Noodle, it turned out one of the horses was a dancer.

The horse encounter turned into a lesson on counting (Noodle can count up to 11 in Spanish, but she doesn't understand what it really means. For instance if there are 3 items she could count up to 4 or up to 6 or up to whatever number until she gets distracted).  We have also been working on her colors and since we had 3 horses of different colors, it became a lesson on colors as well.

We were fortunate none of the horses decided to Pee in front of Noodle. A few weeks back, we had gone to the County Fair and as Noodle was chatting with a cow, the cow urinated in front of her. It has been weeks and she still talks about it, she still says "Pee pee Vaca."

Sweet Dancing Machine

Little loves music. She has since she was in my belly. When pregnant with her I spent a lot time dancing and she would always kick as I danced, so it is fair to say that she was born with an appreciation for music.
Every morning as she drinks her milk, we watched the news together. She sits patiently waiting because after 15 minutes of news, she gets to watch cartoons.
This morning the news had a live Coldplay concert (Mommy's favorite band and one Little recognizes from her time in Mommy's belly).
It is fair to say she loves Coldplay as much as Mommy does.
She loved it so much she chose to forgo the morning cartoons for more musica.

At the Lake

We have been spending a considerable amount of time at the lake lately.
Ready for the sunset
So much so that for the grandparents to see Little they had to make the one hour trip north.
Feeding the fish
They picked the best day to do it. It was just gorgeous.
Playing in the water
Relaxing

Little helper

I have the best little helper.
In the morning she squeezes orange juice.

Then she folds the laundry, unfolds is really more accurate, but at least she tries.

After all her hard work, she relaxes with a Mango frozen fruit bar.

At the playground

Little has been enjoying the Fall weather.
We have been making regular visits to the playground.

She used to only love the slides, but she is a "big" girl now, so she has branched out.

Since she was a tiny baby, Little has never been a fan of the swings, but this last week she decided Baa (her friend the Sheep) liked the swings, and since Baa liked the swings then maybe Little should try them too. Here she is pushing Baa.

It turns out she likes the swings, but she really only likes to sit on the swing; however, she does not want to be pushed.
Instead she wants Mommy and Baa to sit along with her in the swings, but neither of us is allowed to swing either. Can you say bossy?
She can go up the stairs on her own

It has been fascinating to see her confidence develop and grow a bit more with each playground visit. She is cautious, but still adventurous. When we go to playgrounds that have different play sets for young and older children, we always start in the younger playground, but she always ends up wanting to play with the older children.

Back, again!

We have had a week of adjustments!

Daddy came back from his amazing mountaineering trip to the Himalayas.

Abuelo and Yaya returned home after having spent one month taking care of Little while Mommy and Daddy traveled to Asia.

We have added a new family member to our household.
Prima Ale has settled in with us as she prepares to start college soon.

We had a crazy busy summer and through it all Little proved she is one adaptable girl.

As we settle back into a routine, we'll restart the blog updates.
