With the animals

We went to visit los animales at Yellow River Game Ranch with Tia Nani and Nico.
The kids had an absolute blast running wild, petting and feeding all the friendly animals.
Feeding a carrot to the hungry cow
The babies with the baby goats
Talking to the bears. They really made an impression on her, before we left we had to stop back for another visit
On your mark, get set, GO!
She needed a break
Her bunny meeting the bunnies
Dancing with her new friends
"Burro, look at me"
Cheese!

We are back!

Mommy is back from her AMAZING trip, what a wonderful experience.

It was impossible to not fall in love with Tibet, such a beautiful country, kind people and so incredibly devoted (even under the most oppressive circumstances). After a couple scary experiences with the Communist Chinese government, it really became an eye-opening experience and I have returned with a new appreciation for freedom.

Nepal was a charming mess. Beautiful ancient architecture surrounded by happy people mingled with free ranging cows and monkeys (some in the middle of the street). I got to visit the city along with Daddy and his mountaineering friends.

After almost two weeks away, I came home to a happy Little.
She stayed in the comfort of her home and by the looks of things she kept Yaya, Abuelo and Alejandra very busy.

Mommy's Journey

Mommy departs this week on a magnificent journey to Asia.
Little stays home with her grandparents and although I will miss her terribly, I know she will be well taken care of.
After Tibet, Daddy will join Mommy in Kathmandu for a few days and then Daddy departs on his own journey trying to get as close to the roof of the earth and he can (for now).
Daddy is headed to Everest's base camp

Gymnastics

Little has started a gymnastics class.
At first it may seem a bit of an exaggeration to have a toddler in a gymnastics class, but the goal is not for her to become the next Nadia Comaneci.
It is very beneficial to have her sit down an stretch and to have to follow directions. The whole class is a series of obstacle courses the group has to follow in an orderly manner.
One of the obstacle courses
The first time we went for the trial, I did not think she was going to do what she was told to do when she was told to do it, but she proved me wrong.
Waiting for her turn
Ready for the slide
Up and down the stairs
Listening to the directions for the high bar. I help her and she holds on to the bar and tries to lift her legs.
Maneuvering through the down steps
Tunnel
Climbing the latter
Bouncing in the trampoline
At the end of the class, they run in circles following the instructor and playing green light, red light.

The best part of the class for Little is bubble time.
Eating the bubbles
Catching the bubbles

Little Helper

Little wanted to make herself helpful as Daddy was busy with some home repairs. So she went and got her tools.
Organizing her tools
Helping Daddy
Concentrated hammering
This tool set has been one entertaining toy. She really focuses on what she is doing with it and I have seen an improvement in her hand-eye coordination and in aligning the screws with the slots.

Party Time

Little has been to a few parties in her short life, today she discovered what it was like to really have FUN at a party. She played, ran, laughed and enjoyed herself so much she did not want to leave.
Playing with the baby toys
Having snacks, watermelon is her new favorite
Little had been introduced to bouncy toys many times before and she never liked them.
Today it all changed!
Wee on the slide
Loving it!

It took a while to get her to climb into the bouncy house, but once she did there was no way to get her out.
Jumping

As it becomes obvious in all the photos all the kids her age are inside playing with the train table.  Little was much more interested in playing with the bigger kids outside.
Chasing the bigger kids, she is so much smaller she was left way behind
Laughing with them. I'm pretty sure she did not know what she was laughing at
She had a blast!
